For as long as I can remember, I have always had a deep love for music. Not just for listening to it but also for wanting to be an entertainer myself.
In school, I used to sing songs from established singers like Mohamud Ahmed, Gerawork Nekatibeb, Abebe Teka and like others with such confidence that over time I became popular and began to enjoy a miniature kind of fame for myself.
Soon afterwards, something motivating me to write and I would often write short pieces and poems some of which I started to convert into lyrics.
Side by side with academic success I excelled.
After school, I joined bands, worked with famous singers but still I had a deeper motivation to move forward and I wanted to make sure that nothing got in my way. I then started working with Millennium and several producers/engineers and now I am putting the finishing touches on my debut album, "Yene Fiker".
The moral of my story which I would like to share with others is to stay the course!!! Be persistent and don't give up. Also look for good people to work with and don't be afraid of sacrifice if you are convinced that you are on a positive track. It ain't easy but if you work on your craft, surround yourself with good people, you'll be fine!!!
I have alot of people to thank. For all of you who supported me with your precious advice and time especially Dani Boy, Dagmawi Ali, Girum Mezmur, Henok Mehari, for the whole member of Afro sound, Kibret Zekios, Melaku Tasew, from Minilik Band and for my father of art Dawit Gezachew (Philips), Tamirat Desta, Kirubel, (sweet band) and for Teddy Afro for the advice that you gave privately. To my manager, Alem, co-arrangers, Yonas and Teddy and the Millennium family, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Our future will be prosperous together.
Last and not least, to my immediate family....this is for you and with God, you have made this possible. I love you!!!
For all others including my fans and people that I did not mention here by name, I want to say thank you so much I respect all of you . You motivate me to continue making good music.
